Project 1A - Spatial Typology
The objective is to identify and analyse spatial order and spatial poetics through precedent studies. The main aim is to analyse one of the two given architectural precedents. Individually, we are to analyse the spatial poetics & spatial typology of the selected precedent. The analysis of the design approaches will inform the preceding design projects for the remaining semester. Thus, the selection of precedents should be critical and inspirational.

I have learnt about concentric and linear typology in this assignment. I have chosen concentric typology as my precedent study as my previous semesters, I have worked with linear typology, this time I want to try out something different. 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art shows how concentric typology works. I am amazed by designer's idea on having no specific route throughout the exhibition while allowing visitors to maneuver around the cylindrical form spaces.
