In a group of 5 write a research paper of your chosen theme with a 2500-3000 words (no more than 10 pages). Discuss the typology of buildings that our spaces in Assignment 1 and the basic building design that was used or should be used for hot and humid climatic considerations using UBBL, MS1525 and GBI strategies. Examine the building design strategies for the said building type and suggest passive building design strategies with relevant research and case studies.

Reflection
Roof pond is a rare passive design strategy that can been seen in the world. Our group has chosen roof pond as our research topic and this has widen my knowledge and understanding on roof pond. In this research paper, we are to discuss if roof pond is suitable to be built in tropical climate countries, as we are staying in Malaysia. I have learnt on its operation, construction method, its benefit and disadvantages. There are a lot of other passive design strategies, all of them have their pros and cons. In all, a designer need to consider from all aspect to determine which strategy suits the context the best.
