PROJECT TWO

GROUP & INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT

TASK 1

In a large group, we are required to conduct site data collection and analysis of the physical immediate context of the site ( Kuala Selangor Nature Park ). 

TASK 2

In a group of 5-6 people, we are to produce Site Analysis using Design Response Vignettes matrix and suggest possible site use alternatives (as per suggested by Edward T. White in his Site Analysis book) for our next Look-Out Structure project.

TASK 3

We are to design a Look-out Structure with a maximum area of 30m3 and select One (1) of the best panoramic view of your site to frame with. This structure shall accommodate for 3 observing activities (standing, seating, lying down etc). in which built-in furniture and equipment must fit and be incorporated with spatial planning and standard anthropometric measurement compiled by Neufert’s Architect’s Data. This structure should correspond to the site that you have chosen.

reflection

This assignment has taught me to do thorough site analysis and how the site context can affect the design. I have also learnt that a good design must respond to the site surrounding.
